Starfish Project, A story of hope. Ethical Fashion Jewelry Makers

What is a Social Enterprise?

 What is a Social Enterprise?
Investopedia answers it simply, "a social enterprise or social business is defined as a business with specific social objectives that serve its primary purpose. Social enterprises seek to maximize profits while maximizing benefits to society and the environment, and the profits are principally used to fund social programs."

Which brands at Kin is a social enterprise?

Starfish Project Inc.! Only the best jewelry brand in the whole world (or at least one of!). From their website, "We are a Social Enterprise with a Holistic Care Program that cares for women escaping human trafficking and exploitation in Asia. At Starfish Project women and girls experience freedom, establish independence and develop careers. We have employed and trained over 160 women and served thousands more through our community outreach."

Amazing, right? They're maximizing profits through their jewelry making enterprise, while maximizing benefits to society - which is rescuing and helping exploited women.

What's a major component to ensure
a small enterprise remains competitive enough to grow?
Intentional shoppers like you!

Every season, Starfish Project releases numerous new designs that I absolutely love curating collections for Kin Trading Post shoppers.  I look for studs (great for kids or the simplistic fashionista), fun statement earrings to dress up an outfit, or classy, colorful bracelets and necklaces.  Materials include natural stones, lightweight resin, hypoallergenic & high quality gold plated metals...not only are they sophisticated looks but they'll last for years to come!   Plus, Starfish Project jewelry makes great gifts. Every piece arrives in a small gift-box with the name of the maker inside.  Here's a few of our latest additions...
